I would need a bit more detail as to what you currently have, what you want to setup, and some idea of what the setup should look like in the event you perform a 'switch active' command on any of the current/proposed WS setups.
----------
You've only mentioned the dataservers ... ASE1, ASE2, ASE3 ... but no mention of the databases that make up the actual WS setups; net result is that I can't tell if you want to do something like:
ASE1.pubs1 <---WS--> ASE2.pubs1 <--WS--> ASE3.pubs1
or perhaps:
ASE1.pubs1 <--WS-->ASE2.pubs1
ASE2.otherdb <--WS--> ASE3.otherdb
or perhaps some other configuration ... ?
----------
Any particular reason you've chosen WS as opposed to MSA?
There's nothing wrong with WS, but it can be a bit more limiting that MSA ... and if you don't plan on implementing the 'switch active' command (ie, change direction of txn flow) then WS may be more complicated than needed.
----------
Last but not least ...
Please provide your ASE version(s) (select @@version) and RS version(s) (admin version). This would help us know what features are available in your environment.
