We're really looking for ASE 15+ features that ASE code developers shouldn't use yet.
The main features I see in ASE 15+ not supported in repserver 12.6 that I found are:
- New datatypes like bigint, unsigned ints (ASE 15.0) and bigdate/bigtime
- Longer identifiers (ASE 15.0)
Just for background knowledge, if you use a bigint in ASE 15.5 with repserver 12.6 (ie. with the 12.6 rep_agent) you'll get a 9289 error from ASE.
As far as completing the upgrade to repserver 15.7.1, we would very much like to do that, but for one of the first repservers we upgraded, we're currently wrestling with a problem where subscription replicate DSI connections get "stuck" under high load. Ie., they stop moving, data starts queueing up, but the DSI connection has status "Awaiting Command" (or maybe "Awaiting Message", I can't remember). Suspending/resuming the connection gets it flowing again.
So until we get this bug nailed down (incident is open with SAP/Sybase), we're stuck with ASE 15.+ servers working with 12.6 repservers.
Anyway thanks for the response. And it's good to hear from another Sybase old timer.
